Are there places on the planet where wonder concentrates? Where it gathers, amasses, pools, comes in the night by the dumpload to bury yesterday's tracks?  Or is it just a state of mind, a way of looking, a filter through which you see the world, wherever you may be?

We explore Whistler Blackcomb through the eyes of Whistler's lore-keepers, the time-lapse artists and the athletes, the kids who grew up here, and the mechanics who keep the place running, in an effort to find out where wonder strikes. These stories are pinned to Whistler Blackcomb's most special places for people to explore. To share. To rediscover.

Because Whistler Blackcomb is not a one-time destination you can tick off your list. It's something you have to experience. Somewhere that requires full-body immersion. Where you discover that wonder is neither an exclusive place nor a simple state of mind. It's constantly shifting. It's worth chasing. It's completely personal. And it's better when shared. • Snow

Sherpas Cinema’s timelapse mastery shows why new snow stops us in our tracks, every single time.

Snow. Our common obsession. It covers our steep craggy terrain and rounds out the sharp edges to make Whistler Blackcomb rideable like nowhere else on earth. This is the story of how we are transformed every winter, told through the distinct visual artistry of Sherpas Cinema.

  • The Pass

Sherpas Cinema follows in the footsteps of big mountain legend Eric Pehota to film his sons emerging from his shadow.

Push the boundaries. A hunger for new wonders, new vistas and new challenges fuelled trailblazing big mountain ski legend Eric Pehota, who pushed the boundaries to explore Whistler Blackcomb’s high alpine terrain. Now inbounds and accessible for all adventurous spirits, Pehota now revisits his old stomping grounds with his sons, Longan and Dalton, two of Canada’s hottest upcoming freeskiers.

  • The Stoke

Anticipation tastes sweetest right before the gate drops. Which is why Whistler Blackcomb’s Opening Day tradition is the ultimate sugar hit.

How to prove your stoke? You set your tent up outside the gondola the eve before Opening Day. And if you're lucky, someone will bring you cookies, so you can claim your place in history. As one of the first. For this year, anyway.
Whistler Blackcomb's Opening Day tradition is a kind of candy festival - the soft grey light of morning is skittled-through with bright new gear and buzzing skiers and riders, amped by the prospect of making that first turn in 6 months. Some are Opening Day regulars, some are cutting school, some are here for their first time. But when the gate drops, and the gondola starts to load, they are all riding the same wave of Stoke, right to the top.

  • The Deep

It's powder. So don't call it porn when Switchback Entertainment takes us into the Deep. Mike Douglas and friends drop into their favourite stashes on Whistler Blackcomb.

Powder is a commodity. It's rareness is what makes it valuable. Those in the know, know, the moment must be embraced. And the powder stashes are the place.

  • The Crossing

The Crossing. What happens when a single man becomes the keeper of a world-record breaker? Switchback Entertainment documents the story of the caretaker of the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola.

These are the hero stats on the PEAK 2 PEAK gondola : it breaks 3 world records and, at 3.024km crosses the longest unsupported span in the world. That’s one massive cable. But the stats only tell the tiniest part of the story. As the gondola’s caretaker, Whistler Blackcomb’s Lift Maintenance Manager Wayne Wiltse, tells, it was always a dream to connect Whistler and Blackcomb. The only way to do that was to go big. Today, the best way to get close to the wonder of "a detachable chairlift tram on steroids" is to make the Crossing yourself.

  • Size Matters

At Whistler Blackcomb, size does matter and our 8171 acres of varied terrain proves it as the being the largest resort in North America.

There are those who will argue that bigger isn't always better. Most of them haven't experienced all of 8171 acres, 5280 vertical feet, and 200+ trails, that is Whistler Blackcomb's in-bounds terrain.
